Learner Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

Identify environmental, social, and cultural barriers to full participation by people of all abilities.
Recognize principles of universal design and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards in real world contexts.
Analyze the usability of environments and products by people of all abilities according to a universal design framework and ADA standards.
Propose practical design solutions based on universal design principles and ADA standards for access issues in a variety of environments.
Identify agents responsible for implementing and maintaining accessible environments and programs.
Explain the advantage for individuals and society of minimizing barriers by implementing principles of universal design to different audiences with different motives (e.g., social justice and risk management).
Communicate professionally and accessibly.
