CMGT 347 - Heavy Civil Methods and Materials


Description:
Introduction to methods and materials commonly employed and used with an emphasis on heavy, civil, marine, and highway construction. CMGT 346 and CMGT 347 are equivalent courses; students may not receive credit for both.

Prerequisites:
Prerequisite: CMGT 265.

Learner Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of materials, equipment and the basic engineering properties used in construction civil construction.
  • Analyze methods, materials, and equipment used to construct projects in civil construction. ACCE SLO #8
  • Research a selected topic and write a five to seven-page research paper on this topic, including a bibliography.
  • Create oral presentations appropriate to the construction discipline. ACCE SLO #2
