EXSC 460 - Muscle Physiology Description: To provide content on the cellular and systems physiology of skeletal muscle as well as present research-based findings of how various stimuli (exercise, aging, inactivity) influence skeletal muscle function and adaptation.
Prerequisites: Prerequisite: EXSC 350.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Arrange and synthesize detailed components of the structure, composition and biochemical properties of muscle tissue
- Formulate and organize the differences between skeletal, smooth, and cardiac muscle fiber types
- Evaluate factors that affect skeletal and cardiac muscle adaptation to a variety of stimuli
- Evaluate and synthesize the muscular molecular environment of the heterogeneity of metabolic and structural changes that can occur in skeletal muscle
