Individual, small, and large group teaching strategies essential to individualized education programs, and selection, evaluation, and adaptation of commercially available materials, including computer applications.

Learner Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

Explain the characteristics of various exceptionality areas and evidence-based instructional strategies to meet specific needs such as adaptive, social, emotional, behavioral, communication and independent living skills.
Identify types of assistive technology to be utilized in the instructional process of students ranging from pre-school to grade 12.
Create an instructional plan with assessments that aligns with the general education curriculum and meets the unique needs of a diverse learner.
Develop a unit of instruction which addresses the four phases of learning; acquisition, fluency, maintenance, and generalization.
Demonstrate direct instruction teaching strategies through the use of task analysis development.
