ASL 600 - Program Development and Planning


Description:
The course explores common challenges in second language teaching program administration, supervision, and planning. Students will apply practical theories to American Sign Language program development and assess benchmarks, articulation, and marketing.

Learner Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Evaluate, observe, and address to common challenges facing the field of current second language instruction and address suitably to those challenges.
  • Assess and describe current challenges in second language program development and leadership and accomplish a thorough evaluation of an existing program
  • Observe principles and practices of second language instructor supervision
  • Develop a mock marketing plan that includes working with a college on an articulation.
