ASL 530 - Research Methods in the American Sign Language Field

Description:
Students will learn research methods, ethics, and survey the research literature on effective instruction approaches; develop a research proposal related to the American Sign Language instruction field.

Learner Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

Analyze concepts, language, methods, and applications of research
Develop the competence to formulate explicit research questions
Show the ability to outline an appropriate research design to respond research questions and contribute to generalizable knowledge
Organize a specific area of interest and a narrowly focused topic of study
Propose a study that includes literature, at least three research questions, design, and data collection.
