Learner Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Analyze professional development for Family and Consumer Sciences education
  • Categorize your leadership style and identify your leadership potential for building your own network and memorable experiences at the national and international level.
  • Evaluate the importance of building a professional network in Family and Consumer Sciences, Home Economics, government, business, and non-profit organizations.
  • Examine possible outcomes from professional development models and theories and correlate them to appropriate situations in building a professional network.
  • Evaluate potential participation in professional conferences, completing presentation applications, and seeking out opportunities for participation.
  • Create professional development plans to build personal and professional goals related to career advancement.
  • Outline a broadened perspective and thorough understanding of leadership opportunities, professional development and participation in state, national and international associations.
