MUS 623 - Research III: Methods: American Band College Description: Selecting and applying methods for scholarly research in music. Students will use research texts, thematic catalogues, style manuals, abstracts, databases, collected editions, and internet resources to analyze and critique musical works in historical context.
Prerequisites: Prerequisite: graduate standing and admission to American Band College program.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Select music research texts, thematic catalogs, style manuals, databases, collected editions, and/or internet resources to synthesize in-depth knowledge of a variety of musical works.
- Summarize information from clinics, rehearsals, and composer forums to effectively select and apply pedagogical theory and research to the band rehearsal.
- Synthesize information from clinics, rehearsals, and composer forums to effectively select and apply pedagogical theory and research to the band rehearsal.
