MUS 542 - Advanced Conducting: American Band College Description: Clinician presentations related to the conductor’s considerations for instrumental pedagogy, conducting technique, and rehearsal technique. In-rehearsal participation, sight-reading, or preparing for concerts. Assessment and evaluation sessions based on conducting assignments. May be repeated up to 12 credits.
Prerequisites: Prerequisite: graduate standing and admission to American Band College program.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Analyze selected wind band scores with attention to applied pedagogy of wind/brass/percussion instruments.
- Select and justify gestural vocabulary consistent with score analysis.
- Demonstrate applied conducting technique (gestural vocabulary) in rehearsal.
