NUTR 544 - Advanced Medical Nutrition Therapy Description: An in-depth study of the application of the Nutrition Care Process and nutrition support in the critical care setting.
Prerequisites: Prerequisite: NUTR 444 or equivalent undergraduate medical nutrition therapy.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Distinguish the need for parenteral and enteral nutrition
- Analyze medical records to create appropriate nutrition assessments
- Write nutrition care plans using the Nutrition Care Process
- Evaluate Drug Nutrient interaction risks in Nutrition Support
- Assess malnutrition risk level through Nutrition Focused Physical Examination
- Defend scientific, ethical, clinical and legal considerations in nutrition support decisions
