This course explores and evaluates roles of professional certification in the HR profession and career management. Topics include the design and purpose of the HR certification exams, exam preparation and career management post certification.

Prerequisites:
Prerequisite: admission to the Graduate Professional Human Resource Management Certificate, or by department permission.

Analyze the major areas of the SHRM Body of Knowledge
Develop a personalized certification preparation sequence and schedule
Develop a personal career management program for a future as a human resource management professional.

Prescribe a mentoring plan to successfully complete certification to junior colleagues
