EDU 574 - Clinical Practice III Description: Pre-professional observation of licensed teachers. Candidates observe, identify, and develop professional teaching skills at a placement field site documenting a minimum of 100 field hours.
Prerequisites: Prerequisites: must be accepted into the Teacher Certification MAT Program. Must have successfully completed the following courses with B- or higher: EDU 503 and EDU 563 and EDU 573 and EDU 583 and (EDSE 520 for students enrolled in the special education specialization).

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Apply assessment of learning and decision making skills that a data-driven classroom teacher needs in order to successfully educate students [Application]
- Develop and teach lesson and unit plans that follow the CWU lesson plan template and align with Washington State Standards [Synthesis]
- Apply knowledge of the teaching/learning process in organizing for teaching [Application]
- Recognize the difference between instructional and managerial dimensions of teaching [synthesis]
- Proficiently demonstrate strategies that promote responsibility, motivation and appreciation of diversity
- Demonstrate the relationships among environment, curriculum, instruction, organization, and management in the classroom
- Demonstrate classroom management strategies that create an effective classroom and support behavioral growth in the diverse learning needs of students
- Demonstrate classroom management strategies that allow for whole group, small group, cooperative group, paired/shared grouping patterns that support a variety of learning opportunities for students [Evaluation]
