EDU 572 - Clinical Practice I Description: Pre-professional observation of licensed teachers. Candidates observe, identify, and develop professional teaching skills at a placement field site documenting a minimum of 100 field hours.
Prerequisites: Prerequisites: must be accepted into the Teacher Certification MAT Program. Must have successfully completed the following courses with B- or higher: EDU 551 and EDU 561 and (EDU 531 for students enrolled in the secondary and K-12 specialization) and (EDSE 531 for students enrolled in the special education specialization).

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Discuss the impact of diverse student populations on learning [Comprehension]
- Identify the different learning styles of students. [Comprehension]
- Develop a working knowledge of general teaching models.[knowledge]
- Observe teachers in action as they deal will everyday issues in the classroom. [knowledge]

- Conduct a self-assessment based on a set of criteria shown to contribute to effective teaching, drawn from a research-based instructional framework. [evaluation]
- Demonstrate in a public school classroom command of the knowledge and skills obtained in their major and/or minor areas as knowledge specialists [synthesis]
- Observe how a diverse student population can alter the way instructional materials have to be presented. [Application]
- Identify the requirements of students with exceptionalities and other groups, such as Title I and ELL students [Synthesis]
- Identify the skills necessary for communicating with administration, teachers, and parents. [Evaluation]
