EDU 561 - Methods and Models Instruction Description: Teaching methodologies for heterogeneous classroom settings. Differentiating instructional techniques to effectively accomplish specific learning goals for students’ diverse learning backgrounds and needs.
Prerequisites: Prerequisites: must be accepted in the Teacher Certification MAT Program. Taken concurrently with EDU 551 and EDU 531 or EDSE 531.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Discuss research-based instructional strategies and techniques that engage all students. [Comprehension]
- Relevancy of methods as connected with national, state, and local standards affecting accountability [Comprehension]
- Evaluation of learning and teaching styles on the choice of instructional models. [Application]
- Mastery of research-based instructional strategies with basis in acceptable psychological theory and philosophic background. [Application]
- Rigorous conceptual understanding, creative thought, and problem solving, encouraging students’ important roles as social entities [Synthesis]
- Video tape demonstration of candidate teaching one activity from constructed lesson plan unit. [Synthesis]
- Evaluate your reflective awareness of the role of teacher in creating classroom culture, climate and learning for all students. [Analysis]
