EDU 531 - Culturally Responsive Management of the Learning Environment Description: Theoretical and practical approaches to managing the contemporary learning environment. The teacher’s role as a decision maker in a complex, multi-layered, and demanding environment.
Prerequisites: Prerequisite: must be accepted into the Teacher Certification MAT Program.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Identify evidence based methods for establishing classroom community
- Use observational techniques to analyze problem behavior and determine appropriate interventions.
- Explore issues and controversies associated with classroom and school-wide disciplinary plans.
- Establish proactive classroom routines and procedures for directing student work flow
- Advance planning skills and decision making
