ENG 565 - Advanced Poetry Writing Description: Graduate poetry writing class examining the genres within poetry, as well as experimenting with form and technique, with emphasis on the revision process. Department permission. ENG 465 and ENG 565 are layered courses; a student may not receive credit for both.
Prerequisites: Prerequisite: admission to the online professional and creative writing MA.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Apply revision techniques at an advanced level to the development of publishable quality poems, and demonstrate collaborative feedback strategies informed by awareness of contemporary and ongoing conversations around inclusive and anti-racist pedagogies and accessible design.
- Demonstrate proficiency with the structures and conventions of contemporary poetry books and engage in advanced comparative analysis of contemporary creative work.
- Develop strategies that lead to publication success.
