HPE 561 - Tactical Applications to Movement Development and Sport Description: This course examines how the tactical games approach can be applied at elementary and secondary levels in a variety of developmentally appropriate sports and activities.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Recognize the value of research based best practices in physical education
- Identify and Demonstrate a knowledge of the phases and stages of movement development.
- Interpret and prescribe knowledge and best practices and skills directly related to improving physical literacy among K-12 students
- Identify research proven practices based on age and developmentally appropriate progressions.
- Develop appropriate sequences to help students achieve proficiency of propulsive and receptive skills
- Differentiate between appropriate and inappropriate practices
- Construct developmentally appropriate lessons plans based on actual students
- Understand the differences of youth in relation to skills and maximizing success
- Suggest realistic solutions for some of the major challenges in physical education.
- Identify and utilize useful online resources
- Construct/modify and justify current practices in an online forum for discussions
