CERM 501 - Introduction to Cultural and Environmental Resource Management Description: This course familiarizes students with the nature of cultural and environmental resources and traditional and current systems of resource management. Students gain the ability to analyze resource management problems at local to global scales.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Describe, examine, and critique cultural and environmental resource management literature.
- Identify the appropriate resource management framework to propose and argue for holistic management solutions or compromises.
- Construct a written statement that examines the historical cultural and environmental contexts of a resource management-related thesis topic and that assesses the diverse perspectives and stakeholders involved at an appropriate spatial and temporal scale.
- Identify and evaluate professional ethics and standards and write an individual ethics statement to incorporate into their thesis research.
