ETSC 512 - Alternative Energy Systems Description: Study of alternative energy technology and their societal issues. Course provides students with skills necessary to be a successful technical manager in the energy systems sector. Survey of Solar, Wind, Tidal, Geothermal, Biomass energy systems. Formerly IET 512, students may not receive credit for both.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Outline the practical aspects of alternative energy systems.
- Evaluate the technical, geopolitical, economic, and environmental aspects of energy resources and its conversion to other useful forms.
- Examine the terminology in the energy conversion technical field so that they may read energy literature with understanding.
- Become a better informed citizen able to support discussions dealing with energy issues in a leadership position.
