HPE 577 - Curriculum and Assessment in Physical Education and Health


Description:
Provide an opportunity to learn about the foundational curriculum design components of physical education and school health education that is intended to impact youth taking physical education and health classes in the K-12 educational system.

Learner Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Define the role of the federal, state, and local governments in school curriculum.
  • Recognize and identify the parts and process of curriculum planning
  • Distinguish the task between curriculum planning from unit and lesson planning
  • Write unit objectives consistent with curriculum goals and objectives
  • Complete the E-Learning Series Physical Education PECAT Training
  • Create a scope and sequence plan utilizing the health behavior outcomes from the  PECAT.
  • Complete the E-Learning Series HECAT Training
  • Create a scope and sequence plan utilizing the health behavior outcomes from the  HECAT.
