STP 502 - Designing and Implementing Problem-Based Instruction in STEM Description: STEM Leaders will analyze, discuss, and plan teaching practices for using problems authentic to STEM disciplines to activate prior knowledge and apply the new information through discourse and authentic assessments.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student/teacher candidate will be able to:
- Analyze examples of problem-based tasks using problem-based instructional philosophy.
- Plan discourse and assessment practices that activate prior knowledge and apply new information for a variety of problems and learning contexts authentic to STEM disciplines.
- Design a problem-based learning segment that focuses on student discourse and authentic assessment.
