PSY 526 - Learning Disorders Description: Examination of the theoretical and empirical literature in the field of learning disorders, including developments in the assessment of learning disorders for school psychology practice. Permission by department.
Prerequisites: Prerequisite: admission to the EdS program in School Psychology.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Summarize the characteristics of learning disorders in children and adolescents, including speech and language disorders, specific learning disorders, intellectual disability, Autism, and ADHD.
- Synthesize current research findings on assessment and evidence-based interventions for learning disorders into school psychology practice.
- Choose methods to conduct comprehensive diagnostic evaluations for children and adolescents referred for potential learning disorders.
- Select current best practices in screening, early identification, and progress monitoring for children with learning disorders.
- Choose progress monitoring tools for use with children with learning disorders.
