HRM 553 - Organizational Performance Management


Description:
Examines the influence of human performance elements (such as quality of work-life, rewards and recognition, job design, teambuilding, and participative management) on organizational performance.

Prerequisites:
Prerequisite: admission to the Graduate Professional Human Resource Management Certificate, or by department permission.

Learner Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Apply organizational behavior theories through the use of management case studies, personal application papers and small group exercises.
  • Analyze individual human behavior in the workplace as influenced by personality, values, perceptions, and motivations.
  • Examine the elements of group behavior including group dynamics, communication, leadership, power & politics and conflict & negotiation
  • Evaluate the organizational system, including organizational structures, culture, human resources, and change.
