TH 542 - Musical Theatre Directing Description: Study of the director’s preparation and rehearsal practices for coordinating and mounting a full musical production.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Demonstrate competence in the areas of organization, focus, picturization, and stage direction of musically based theatre.
- Demonstrate competence in protective vocal performance techniques using both the SLS method and Bel Canto approaches.
- Demonstrate competence in the area of critical analysis and its application to contemporary musical theatre stylization and staging.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of terminology In the areas music, staging, and acting.
- Demonstrate their knowledge of staging techniques applied to a variety of venues.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of various audition techniques.
