PSY 568 - Clinic Orientation Crisis and Rehabilitation Counseling Description: This course covers the essential elements of clinic orientation– focusing on clinic paperwork and supervision–, crisis and rehabilitation counseling. Permission of department.
Prerequisites: Co- or Prerequisite: PSY 560. Admittance to the mental health counseling program.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Construct a self-care plan.
- Evaluate the utility of self-care plan.
- Explain the purposes of supervision and how to best utilize supervision.
- Articulate the effects of crisis, disaster, and trauma on diverse individuals across the lifespan including the impact of crisis and trauma on individuals with mental health diagnosis
- Apply different suicide prevention models and strategies to cases presented in class
- Engage in providing crisis intervention including trauma-informed, and community-based strategies, such as psychological first aid
- Design mental health assessment reports, treatment plans, and case notes that address biopsychosocial conceptualizations
