Research and analyze the national and/or international relationship between educational systems, socio-cultural factors that affect educational systems, and language contexts of a society.

Learner Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Compare and contrast students’ personal educational experiences in their home countries with critical pedagogy.
  • Describe and explain the development of the field of comparative education.
  • Develop comparative insights about education with the goal of improving schools anywhere.
  • Explain how education and human resource policies can affect national development from global and comparative perspectives.
  • Examine cross-national themes such as educational transfer, political and economic development, social stratification and globalization.
  • Examine comparative methodology on education, social sciences and national development in a global era.
