EDF 507 - Studies and Problems in Intercultural Education Description: Research topics of diversity, equity, and inclusivity. Awareness and analysis of efforts in creating a school climate in multicultural settings.
Prerequisites: Prerequisite: admission to the Master Teacher Program.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Identify community assets and explain that cultures other than one’s own have something to teach us.
- Develop and assess personal awareness of self in social groups and systems of oppression and its impact on leadership ability to facilitate learning environments in intercultural education.
- Examine and summarize theories of social justice, social oppression and liberation.
- Develop knowledge of conceptual foundations and create curriculum rooted in culturally-responsive education.
- Formulate action plan that resists and critiques oppression and supports social change.
