This course covers the fundamental aspects of safety and health, applicable standards, risk management, performance metrics, hazard recognition/controls, industrial hygiene, environmental management, fire safety, systems safety, ergonomics, hazardous materials, fleet safety, emergency management, and accident investigation.

Prerequisite: admission to the safety and health management major, safety and health management minor, or occupational safety technology minor.
