An examination of the history, aesthetic achievements, major directors and themes and cultural explorations of Indian cinema. The course explores films from a variety of Indian cinematic traditions including the Bengali, Hindi, Bangladeshi, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, Malavalam, Kashmir and Kannada film industries.
