Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Certificate

The GIS certificate provides recognition for students completing the required number of GIS-related classes at a high level of competence (minimum plan GPA of 2.7). Certification will provide students with a powerful tool to assist their future job searches.

Program Learner Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:

Gather and create geographic data for use with cartography and spatial analysis.
Compose intuitive, honest, and useful maps in both paper and digital formats.
Apply geographic analysis tools and models toward decision making.
Use strategies for ethical decision making when working with sensitive geographic data and maps.
