Business Administration BS (BSBA), Human Resource Management Specialization

Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Degrees Offered (Majors, Minors)

Students pursuing the human resource management (HRM) specialization will deal with fundamental organizational processes that must be developed and managed for continuous improvement by both human resource (HR) specialists and by all managers in general. Thus, the study of HR takes on a dual emphasis. First, by pursuing an HR specialization, students will be thoroughly trained to focus decision-making as it pertains to the acquisition, utilization, development and retention of employees. Alternatively, the study of HRM is also applicable as a strong supplement to other specializations or majors.

The business administration major requires a single specialization of at least 24 credits. Occasionally a student requests a second specialization. To be eligible for a second specialization, a minimum of 20 unique credits must be completed. Unique in this sense means the credits have not been used as part of any other business administration specialization. Students cannot double specialize in general business and another business administration specialization.

Admission Requirements
Students can apply to the major as part of their application to CWU, via their MyCWU account, or by emailing CBAdvising@cwu.edu and will be approved for entry to the major once they have completed the College of Business Agreement to Policies.
