Business Administration BS (BSBA), General Business Specialization

Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Degrees Offered (Majors, Minors)

The general business specialization provides flexibility for students preferring to customize their own program. Building on the general business core shared by the BSBA program, students may add select courses in fulfillment of the requirements to complete the program. The specialization is intended for the student who wishes to tailor a “unique” set of specialization courses to their needs or for the student who desires a broad-based “generalist” track within the business administration major.

The business administration major requires a single specialization of at least 24 credits. Occasionally a student requests a second specialization. To be eligible for a second specialization, a minimum of 20 unique credits must be completed. Unique in this sense means the credits have not been used as part of any other business administration specialization. Students cannot double specialize in general business and another business administration specialization.

Admission Requirements
Students can apply to the major as part of their application to CWU, via their MyCWU account, or by emailing CBAdvising@cwu.edu and will be approved for entry to the major once they have completed the College of Business Agreement to Policies.

  • Specific general business specialization options may have different prerequisites or minimum grades required. Students should carefully review the prerequisites for the general business specialization course options they would like to take.

When selecting a statistics (BUS 221 or MATH 211) option, students are strongly encouraged to select BUS 221 unless transferring a course to meet the requirement.
