Entertainment Technology Minor

The study and application of skills from a variety of technical fields in the live entertainment industry. This minor will prepare students to work in, supervise, and collaborate with a wide range of technical partners in a wide range of event industries.

Graduation Requirements
Complete 22-23 credits in the skills component and 6 credits in the application component.

Program Requirements
Participation in co-curricular production work is required. Students may need to purchase personal protective equipment that will be used in several different courses across the minor.

Program Learner Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:

  • Select the proper tool or equipment to accomplish specified task. Assemble components into a system and safely operate. 
  • Communicate effectively using graphic, written, and oral techniques.
  • Identify, install, use, troubleshoot, and maintain entertainment technology systems.
  • Collaborate as a member of a production team. Lead team members on a crew.

Application Component Credits: 6
