This division of general studies is for the students whose primary interest in the biological or physical sciences or mathematics which offer broader options in course selections than are possible within single departments.

Bachelor of Science General Studies Natural Science 62 Credit Major
60 credits must be taken from the list of courses approved for the Natural Science Major, 45 of which must be upper division. GEN 289 (1) and GEN 489 (1) are required courses. Required Courses
- 60 credits must be taken from the list of courses approved for the Natural Science Major, 45 of which must be upper division. Students specializing in Natural Sciences must take courses in at least three disciplines within the Major. No more than 15 credits may be numbered 490. Credits: (60)
Bachelor of Science General Studies Natural Science 47 Credit Major
45 credits must be taken from the list of
courses approved for the Natural Science
Major, 30 of which must be upper division.
In addition, a 45 credit major must complete
either a traditional departmental minor (20-
45 credits) or a second major, which may be
either a traditional major or a General
Studies major in either Humanities or Social
Science. GEN 289 (1) and GEN 489 (1) are
required courses. Required Courses
- 45 credits must be taken from the list of courses approved for the Natural Sciences Major, 30 of which must be upper division. Students specializing in Natural Sciences must take courses in at least three disciplines within the Major. No more than 10 credits may be numbered 490. Credits: (45)
- In addition, a 45 credit major must complete either a traditional departmental minor (20-45 credits) or a second major, which may be either a traditional major or a General Studies major with a different major. Credits: (20 to 45)
