FIN 478 - Financial Modeling and Analysis


Description:
Combines basic principles of corporate finance with industry-based analytical tools to solve common financial management problems related to capital budgeting, capital structure and dividend policy, risk-return tradeoff and valuations. 

Prerequisites:
Prerequisite: FIN 475 with C or higher.

Learner Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  •  Apply appropriate tools to perform financial analysis and investment valuation.
  • Construct spreadsheet models to analyze the impact of financial decisions related to capital budgeting, capital structure and dividend policy, and securities and option valuation
  • Explain the impact of changes on different aspects of the financial analysis through quantitative and graphical presentations.
  • Improve their familiarity and knowledge with financial data analysis through various model-building exercises.
