HIST 303 - Digital History: Approaches and Methods Description: This course will introduce students to the field of digital history. The students will gain knowledge of approaches and resources and gain hands-on experiences with tools of digital history ranging from databases to visualization methods.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Demonstrate understanding of various approaches to the field of digital history.
- Demonstrate increased written skills in an analytical and reflective portfolio.
- Distinguish the different issues of utilization between digitization resource projects and digital tools for historical analysis.
- Implement the development of research design methods into the creation of a research poster.
- Apply quantitative and geospatial methods to the study of history.
- Apply historical network analysis, including visualization methods to the study of history.
- Create hypotheses and conclusions based on original historical research.
- Communicate and collaborate with others about the nature of historical knowledge, database categories, and the possibilities of digital history for historical analysis.
