ART 587 - Pedagogy of Studio Art and Design Foundations Description: This course is designed to prepare the graduate student for college-level teaching in art and design foundations courses. May be repeated up to 9 credits.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Compile foundations-level art and design course content from a variety of sources, including but not limited to textbooks and web research.
- Use the compiled content to generate unique lectures and slide presentations that will be used when teaching various courses offered in foundations level art and design courses.
- Design their own unique art assignments for foundations level art classes that promote problem-solving and creativity and that can be easily and strategically implemented into an already existing sequence of assignments.
- Evaluate successful methods of instruction delivery, focusing on eye contact, vocal projection, and engagement within the classroom.
- Critique the grading process.
- Develop a personal Teaching Philosophy.
- Generate original course syllabi and organize sample course schedules.
