ASP 535 - Accessible Information Design Description: Standards for public communication, such as advertising and agency information. Issues of disclosure and advocacy. Research and theories of accessible information. ASP 435 and ASP 535 are layered courses; a student may not receive credit for both.
Prerequisites: Prerequisite: admission to the Accessibility Studies Graduate Certificate Program.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Identify common barriers to inclusive information in terms of content and medium.
- Analyze rhetorical implications of accessible information design.
- Define and illustrate guidelines.
- Identify and assess technological applications useful for making information accessible.
- Interpret policy and law as applied to making advertising and other public communication accessible.
- Outline stakeholder responsibilities and interactions.
- Explain the importance of communication in emergency circumstances.
- Survey current peer-reviewed literature regarding issues of accessibility.
