EDBL 289 - Career Writing Seminar for Teacher Candidates Description: In this seminar, teacher candidates will augment the skills required by the Common Core writing standards, and will prepare to implement the best practices in teaching writing across the curriculum in K-12. Grade will either be S or U. Permission of department. EDBL 289 and ENG 289 are cross-listed courses; a student may not receive credit for both.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Explain and apply the gradual release of responsibility instructional framework applied to their grade level and content area.
- Write essays in 3 different genres - explanatory, narrative, and argumentative.
- Demonstrate their ability to accurately use the conventions of written English.
