PHYS 123 - Introductory Physics for Life Sciences III Description: An integrated lecture/laboratory course covering electricity and magnetism and optics with an emphasis on the application of physical concepts to biological systems. Students analyze physical systems using algebra and trigonometry. Class format includes lecture, inquiry-based activities, and experimental investigation. Four class meetings of 80 minutes each. Course will be offered every year (Spring).
Prerequisites: Prerequisites: PHYS 111 or PHYS 121.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Apply quantitative reasoning and appropriate mathematics to describe or explain phenomena in the natural world.
- Analyze and interpret data and experimental uncertainty in order to make meaningful comparisons between experimental measurements or observation and theory.
- Demonstrate knowledge of basic physical principles and their applications to the understanding of living systems.
