MUS 218 - Jazz Combo Description: Performance in jazz combos in various configurations. May be repeated for credit.
Prerequisites: Prerequisite: student must be freshmen or sophomore standing.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Direct jazz combo rehearsals, using efficient and productive rehearsal techniques and performance practices.
- Rehearse and perform literature from the jazz combo genre in a variety of styles.
- Create high quality written and head arrangements of the music they are rehearsing for performance.
- Produce a high quality performance of their combo repertoire.
- Improvise in a jazz combo setting, including musical interaction within the ensemble.
