FIN 370 - Introductory Financial Management Description: An introduction to financial decision making. Topics include financial statement analysis, time value of money, risk and return, securities valuation, capital budgeting, cost of capital, and capital structure.
Prerequisites: Prerequisites: (ACCT 251 and BUS 221 and ECON 201 and admission to a college of business major; or admission to a College of Business Graduate Program); or (ACCT 301 and BUS 221 and ECON 201 and admission to the bachelor of science, personal financial planning major or the bachelor of applied science in supply chain management major); or (admission to an actuarial science major who has completed ACCT 251 or ACCT 301 and ECON 201 and MATH 172 and MATH 173 and BUS 221 or MATH 211 with grades no lower than a C (2.0). MATH 211 may be taken concurrently.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Articulate basic financial concepts, markets, and institutions.
- Analyze financial statements (financial statements and financial statements analysis).
- Evaluate risk and return as they relate to interest rates, required rates of return, and weighted average cost of capital.
- Compute and apply the time value of money.
- Apply the valuation of financial securities: stocks and bonds.
- Apply capital budgeting methods: capital budgeting.
