EDEC 306 - Professional Growth and Expectations Description: This initial course in the Early Childhood Education sequence is a survey of the profession. Students begin a professional growth and development plan, develop philosophical underpinnings, and systematically organizing resources that will be used throughout the program.
Prerequisites: Co-requisite: EDEC 307.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Identify personal and professional expectations as an educator (including standards, mandated reporting, code of conduct, service learning). [knowledge]
- Interpret their role and responsibility as a mandated reporter of potential child abuse and neglect. [comprehension]
- Actively participate in personal development as an educational leader. [application]
