EDBL 430 - Sheltering Instruction for Linguistically Diverse Students Description: This course provides teacher candidates the basic competencies and skills needed to make appropriate modifications and accommodations for linguistically diverse students in content area instruction.
Prerequisites: Prerequisites: students must be admitted to the bilingual education/TESL minor or teaching English as a second language minor.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student/teacher candidate will be able to:
- Identify and articulate the appropriate theoretical basis for sheltering strategies and techniques
- Identify effective sheltering strategies and techniques
- Modify and/or adapt existing curriculum to create curriculum appropriate for English Language Learners using a variety of sheltering techniques and strategies
- Use English Language Proficiency Standards to guide instructional practices.
