FILM 457 - Narrative Screenwriting II Description: Combined lecture/workshop providing in-depth study of the theory and practice of developing a screenplay and teleplay writing style. Topics include mood and tone, scene structure and description, gender, age, subgroup communication and dialog techniques, non-verbal communication, and rewriting. Formerly COM 457; students may not receive credit for both.
Prerequisites: Prerequisites: FILM 447 or permission of instructor.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Demonstrate comprehension of the creation of mood and tone in narrative screenwriting
- Demonstrate comprehension of the range of dialog techniques
- Demonstrate comprehension of the differences in gender, age and sub-group communication styles.
- Demonstrate comprehension of non-verbal communication techniques.
- Demonstrate comprehension of good scene development and description.
- Demonstrate comprehension of the skill of rewriting.
