BIOL 487 - Biology Capstone


Description:
Biology Capstone is the culminating experience in the Biology major. In this course, you will reflect on your education through various assessments of the knowledge, skills, and dispositions you have acquired during your coursework, and by evaluating primary literature. The class also prepares to enter the job market via resume and cover letter writing and mock interviews. 

Prerequisites:
Prerequisite: senior standing.

Learner Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Demonstrate clear communication strategies and techniques in oral and/or written form.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of basic biological concepts.
  • Identify appropriate sources of scientific literature, analyze, discuss it’s significance and propose alternative experiments to verify the conclusions.
  • Reflect upon, integrate, and apply the knowledge and skills they gleaned from their undergraduate experience, including General Education
  • Synthesize and present a response, propose a solution/answer, or showcase their own creative work.
