Content and strategies for teaching aesthetics, art criticism, art history, and art production in art education; writing, implementing, and assessing quality art lessons.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Research and discuss the history of art education including discipline-based art education
  • Recognize state and national art education standards
  • Propose and justify methodologies for teaching art criticism
  • Evaluate art production objectives and teaching strategies
  • Organize and plan instruction using a materials and supplies budget
