ART 330 - Art in the Elementary School


Description:
Content and methodology for teaching art in the elementary school.

Prerequisites:
Prerequisite: conditional or full admission to the Teacher Certification Program.

Learner Outcomes:

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Define and apply art concepts and vocabulary
  • Create artwork to communicate for a selected purpose
  • Develop personal aesthetic to express ideas and feelings using artistic symbols in a variety of art styles
  • Identify and compare/contrast skills and concepts common to the arts
  • Analyze how the elements and principles of art are arranged
  • Reflect and refine work based on feedback from peers and instructor
