HPE 577 - Curriculum and Assessment in Health and Physical Education Description: Provide an opportunity to learn about the foundational curriculum design components of physical education and school health education that is intended to ultimately impact participants taking health and PE classes in the K-12 educational system.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Define the role of the federal, state, and local governments in school curriculum.
- Distinguish the task between curriculum planning from unit and lesson planning
- Write unit objectives consistent with curriculum goals and objectives
- Utilize the Physical Education Curriculum Analysis tool to create a physical education curriculum
- Utilize the Health Education Curriculum Analysis tool to create a health education curriculum.
