FCL 522 - Survey of Research


Description:
The historical, philosophical, and legislative basis of program development and profession growth. CTE 522 and FCL 522 are cross-listed courses; students may not receive credit for both. Formerly FCSG 522. May be repeated for credit.   Formerly FS 522, Students may not receive credit for both.

Learner Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Examine historical and philosophical foundations of program development
  • Describe the historical influences which have affected the development of agency programs
  • Analyze past and current legislation that supports agency programs
  • Examine the role and organization of the program in the agency or profession
  • Articulate the mission and integrative focus of the profession
  • Examine the national and state standards for a program
  • Analyze a major focus of program research during the past 5 years
